This Gift Registry Will Change The Way You Plan Your Next Gift

My best friend's little boy turned one recently, and like a dutiful friend, I got him a pricey Lego set that he could happily play with and enjoy. Only weeks after the party, on a casual discussion with my friend, I realised that he had got three sets of the same Lego all in the same party! Handing over an envelope with a Rs 501/ 1001/2001 is so out of the league and definitely not the right thing you would want to gift a little kid. And this was frankly another reason I dreaded throwing a birthday party for my daughter last week. Right from dresses to toys and nursery items, there are so many duplicates in all our houses, that we frankly don't know how to react the next time we get a gift! Fret no more! We at KSP, have found the right solution to bid bye to all your gifting troubles! Say hi to Giftistree!

What is Giftistree

Giftistree is a virtual platform connecting 'gifters' and' giftees'. It combines the ease of online shopping with the novel idea of gift registry. Their tagline summarises what they do- Smart Gifting, Happy People!

The Story Behind Giftistree

When Bhavna Kanoria, an interior designer by passion and profession and a mom, realised how much she fell short of space in her apartment in Mumbai that was loaded with gifts waiting to be 'regifted', she came upon the idea of Giftistree in 2014.

Inspired to do something different and break the shackles, Bhavna decided to try the idea of a gift registry on a personal level first. She planned a gift registry and shared the list with her guests for her daughter's 2nd birthday. The positive response from the guests on how happy they felt on gifting something useful and the satisfaction from her end as well, set the ball rolling for Giftistree to take a bigger form.

How To Order?

The process is pretty simple. You would have to log on to and make a registry/wishlist of gifts you wish to receive. You can then go ahead and add gifts from the gifting partners that includes some big names such as Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Hopscotch and Pepperfry. You could then share your wishlist with your guests who can place the order. The gifts are then shipped to your location within 5-7 working days. Shipping is free for orders more than Rs. 2000.

Price Range

Creating the wishlist is free. Giftistree offers the option of buying gifts for baby showers, weddings, housewarmings and for kids' birthdays. The wide range of products for the parenting space include subscription boxes, cloth diapers, apparels for kids, hair accessories, bolster covers, wall stickers and even baby and maternity photo shoots, among others.

What We Like About Giftistree

  • As new as this concept is in India, people are open to change and when it comes to gifting for the little members of the family, a little novelty always helps. Giftistree helps you in this regard.
  • The wide range of different gift choices like subscription packages and photo shoots are a welcome move and as parents, we can't wait to sign up for these!
  • Giftistree offers parents the convenience of choosing gifts from more than 50 brands and social sharing of the wishlist makes it a lot easier in today's world.
  • The products available for gifting are reasonably priced and the wide genre of gifting options(including wedding and donate options) is a novel attempt. To register and avail a 10% discount, click here.

What We Would Like To See:

  • Though there are so many gift registry options available, senior members of the family would still feel the customary need to gift cash on special occasions. Giftistree is planning to launch a 'Send Cash' as a gift option and that would be interesting!
  • Giftistree also plans to introduce a 'gift packaging service'. That way if someone wants to send the gift directly to the giftee, it can be gift-wrapped thereby adding the personal touch.
  • With the gift registry business slowly making inroads into the Indian market, we will have to wait and watch how Giftistree manages to stand unique among peers such as Wrapp'd.
