NSC is known for its exclusive science park and galleries and hosts a variety of science shows on sound, energy and lot more. They also host a workshop for students, science fairs, seminars and lots more. Opened on all days of the week.

Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum

This one is easily our favourrite. The oldest museum in the city and third oldest in the country, Dr. Bhau Ji Lad Museum is a home to the rich treasures of the bygone era. The infrastructure of this museum is one of the highlights of this museum. Watch out for the museum's events and activities in our weekly "Events and Activities" section. The museum is closed on all Wednesdays.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya

Earlier known as Prince of Wales Museum, this place now named after the greatest ruler of the Maratha land is a great haven for art collection from far east. Its collaboration with International Museums and various cultural organisations reflects in te various events and programmes they conduct for the general public. Till the end of August this year, the museum is closed on Mondays.

Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya

Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya is a simple, yet a quiet place that helps you explain the freedom struggle to kids in a way they will see and understand. Primarily known as the place of stay of Mahatma Gandhi whenever he visited Mumbai between 1917 to 1934, this place is now converted into a Museum and research centre. Watch out for Bapu's spinning wheel, bed, sandals, drinking bowl and spectacles. Open on all days of the week.

National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai

Located at Kala Ghoda, the National Gallery of Modern Art is an absolute must visit for art-lovers. Opened two decades ago for the general public, this Museum houses some of the best works of both modern art and contemporary art today. Don't miss the special collections of Picasso's works or the Egyptian artefacts that are a huge draw among children. Closed on Mondays and Public Holidays.

RBI Monetary Museum

Do you still treasure the big fat Rs 10 coin your grandfather gave you? Visit the RBI Monetary Museum to know and see such collections that will leave today's digital wallet generation mesmerised! This unique museum at Fort has tons of stories to tell children through their wide collection of coins. Sample this- Did you know that shells and beads were used as a form of currency centuries ago- before coins came into existence? Closed on Mondays.

Mother Museum

Located close to the domestic airport, the Mother or Aai museum made by hotelier Vithal Kamat is dedicated to motherhood and showcases a collection of 100-year-old brass, wood and bone artefacts gathered from Maharashtra. It's the only museum of its kind in a five-star hotel. Also on display are coconut scrapers, children's rattles and combs made of ivory and ebony.

BEST Museum

Set up in Anik bus depot off the eastern express highway, this museum takes you through the city's transport history. It's a treasure trove of transport memorabilia.  It has on display chassis of old double-decker buses, models of tram cars, uniforms, an old bell found while digging at a bus depot site and many more interesting things. It also old ticket dispensing machines that were used by bus conductors while giving tickets. Entry is free to the museum. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.

GVK New Museum

JAYA HE, as the new museum is called at Andheri CSIA, T2 is owned by GVK. Located at 3rd and 4th Level of Departure area of Airport this museum showcases work from all over India. It will take you 15-20  minutes to explore about 7 thousand extremely beautiful artwork all the combination of Mixed Indian heritage in the form of Art, Historic, Sculpture, Cultural display.  Next time you're at the Mumbai T2 explore this beautiful T2 Museum departure area. Entry is free.
