What is it about?

The story of Mahabharatha needs no introductions, but the way it is narrated explains it all. From kids to elders, we all have a fascination towards the epics and the values that it teaches us are endless. Devdutt Pattanaik, who has made mythological stories accessible and enjoyable to children and adults alike, is back with this latest book, after the widely successful "The Girl Who Chose" (Read all about it in KSP Book Club here). This illustrated retelling of the classic will enthral and get your kids all interested to know more about these epics and the stories behind them.

Why is this book on our shelf?

  • As much as I would want to read Roald Dahl books to my li'l girl, we make sure we have copies of the two epics and Krishna's stories to fascinate the young mind. What better way to connect to our roots and culture than books, we ask?!
  • This book helps break down the Mahabharata in a language that children can understand with interesting illustrations and a narration that is different from the usual ones.
  • The core theme that the Mahabharata treads upon is something that is relevant till today (isn't Baahubali based on the same storyline too?!) So an easy and pictorial narration for your kids that not only teaches them more about our culture, but is also a great bedtime read or a travel entertainer for your kids!

You just got the right pick for your child's bookshelf, this festive season!
