We told you earlier why every movie buff should head straight to the Jio MAMI 19th Mumbai Film Festival With Star, this year and what it holds special for children. The exclusive list of movies for kids, curated by Samina Mishra, includes some Indian and International gems that need this platform to reach a wider audience.
Today, we tell you all about the Marathi movie you shouldn't miss with your kids:
Director: Rohan Deshpande
Cast: Sahil Joshi, Maithili Patwardhan
What's the movie about:
The movie is an impactful story about two 8 year olds- Chaani and Balu who live in a drought-stricken village in Maharashtra. The difficulties they face in their everyday life and yet, the child-like innocence the two kids exuberate will resonate with the viewer. But they face the harsh realities of life when they find out that Channi's mother is battling for her life and the little girl resorts to prayers and God to cure her mother.
How she battles this situation, her journey with Balu and the fish she comes across (named 'Pipsi') that means a little more to her- forms the crux of the story. A delightful movie that tells us why innocence remains childhood's biggest strength. Here's a sneak peek into the movie.
