Summer is on its way out and people normally toss the sunscreen away. However, you should know that actually, the winter sun is as harsh. You should continue to use sunscreen for the family even when the weather turns.
While being outdoors and active is a good thing for kids, it also means that they’re going to be exposed to the suns strong rays. They’re bound to get tanned. Kids have such sensitive skins and protecting it is important.
My kids are going to be out playing most of the day, trying to soak in the warmth of the sun before the evening cold sets in and they run indoors. They’re definitely going to get tanned.
So we’ve put together two de-tan scrubs that work well for adults and kids and gradually lighten the tan. These scrubs are made with things you’ll find in your home and are safe for your child’s sensitive skin (and yours!).  Apply any of the scrubs on a weekly basis and see the results for yourself!

Rice Powder Scrub
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp Rice Powder
- 2 Tbsp Fresh Cream
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 Tsp Baking Soda
Method
- Mix all the ingredients together. It will have a thick paste type consistency.
- Apply this on the affected area and scrub. Gradually the tan will reduce.
- Do this at least once a week to see results.
Aloe Vera Scrub
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp Honey
- 1 Tsp Aloe Vera Gel
- 1 Tsp Olive Oil
Method
- Mix all the ingredients to form a homogenous paste.
- Use this as a scrub at least once a week to see results.
