The country is celebrating Navratras and the festive 9 days end with Dussehra. Well, my memories of Dussehra are going to see Ravan burning at the Dussehra grounds armed with my bow and arrow. There was a man who would sit outside the main gate and sell these to all the children passing by. And we all would pretend to be brave warriors with our weapons strapped to us.

So, this year we decided to make our very own bow and arrows using kites. This is a really fun and creative activity. You can add embellishments to make it look grander. The possibilities are endless. So watch your kids have hours of fun as they work on their hand-eye coordination skills. And practise some role-playing! Let them listen to our Indian podcast which is full of stories while they make their bow and arrows. Or get them books on Dussehra and Durga.
