My kids and I are cookie addicts. Show us a packet of cookies with chocolate and it disappears in no time. But I don't know what's going into them. They are mostly made of flour and loaded with tons of refined sugar. Not very healthy right?

So I decided that instead of depriving the kids (and me) of cookies, I should find an alternative that is tasty and healthy. These Chia Seed Breakfast Cookies do not contain any added sugar, butter or flour. Not only do they taste absolutely delicious, they're also easy to make.

We've used bananas and peanut butter to make these cookies. Bananas are rich in potassium, magnesium and fibre and using a nut butter ups the health quotient considerably – perfect for a tasty treat.

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  • Mash the ripe bananas in a large bowl till they are smooth.
