There are many millets that were part of the Indian diet for centuries but have lost prominence over time. One such ancient grain is Jowar or Sorghum.  Jowar is a gluten free grain that has a high content of calcium and is also packed with iron, protein and fibre. It's rated as one of the top 5 super healthy grains in the world.  Jowar could easily replace staple grains such as rice and wheat making for a gluten-free alternative.

This week we're back with episode # 3 from Grandmom Jyoti Zaveri's kitchen where she's whipping up a special and extremely healthy recipe - Jowar Khichdi. This is a perfect wholesome meal for the family. You can add vegetables of your choice to it depending on your family's tastes.
