From the moment the baby arrives, your primary concern as a mom is to be able to breastfeed your child. You want to be able to nurse them and give them the best nutrition available - your breast milk. To be able to nurse your baby and maintain a good supply of breast milk, your diet is extremely important. What you eat, is what the baby gets. Many breastfeeding moms feel extremely hungry after they've fed their baby. That makes sense; your body is working hard to produce breast milk for your baby. So eat small healthy snacks in between to keep your hunger in check and your energy levels up.
To make sure that you maintain a healthy milk supply and are able to feed your baby on demand there are a few foods that are recommended. By the way, the word that describes food or herbs that facilitate breast milk production is galactagogue.
